Founded in 1976 as Real Verdes Football Club, the team has played a transformative role in the development of the sport in Belize. Over the decades, Verdes FC has evolved on the pitch and behind the scenes. In 2004, the club was renamed Hankook Verdes under new management. A major rebranding followed in 2012 when a new forward-thinking ownership group ushered in a new era of professionalism and ambition. Today, the club proudly carries the name Verdes FC and continues to lead by example.

Verdes FC calls the historic Marshalleck Stadium its home, a place where passionate fans gather to support the “Green Machine”. The club has earned a national reputation for developing elite talent and has been a consistent pipeline to the Belize Men’s National Team.
Regional Impact and International Presence
Verdes FC made history in 1986 by becoming the first Belizean club to win the Belize National Football Association Championship and represent the country in the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup. Since that milestone, the club has participated in eight editions of that tournament and twice in the prestigious CONCACAF Champions League, more than any other Belizean club.
Verdes FC also boasts the most appearances by a Belizean team in the UNCAF Club Tournament, consistently breaking new grounds in regional football. In 2015, the club secured the PLB Closing Season title, earning a spot in the CONCACAF Scotiabank Champions League.
Between 2020 to 2022, Verdes FC competed in three consecutive editions of the CONCACAF League Tournament. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the club made history once again in 2022 by becoming the first Belizean club to win a competitive series at that level, advancing to the Round of 16.

Recent Success
In 2023, Verdes FC once again lifted the PLB Closing Season title and finished as the aggregate points leader across the 2022/2023 season. These achievements earned Verdes the distinction of being Belize’s first-ever representative in the inaugural CONCACAF Central American Cup, a prestigious tournament featuring the top 20 clubs in the region.
